Marco Rubio Makes It Clear: Republicans Will Cut Social Security And Medicare After Tax Cuts Pass

In an interview with Politico this past week, Republican Senator Marco Rubio made it painfully clear that his Party intends to cut Social Security and Medicare funding in the months to come, after they end up passing their corporate tax cuts, of course. The goal of the Republican Party is perfectly clear: They want to give everything they can to corporations while taking everything away from the rest of us. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

Republican Florida Senator Marco Rubio gave an interview with Politico this week, where he explained, without mincing words whatsoever, that once the Republicans are finished with their disgusting tax cut package for millionaires and billionaires, they're going to help offset those costs by cutting Social Security and Medicare in the United States.

Now, if you're unfamiliar with those programs, Social Security is the program that you pay into throughout your entire life, so that you can get a little bit of money back when you retire. Maybe it's enough so you don't have to work. In most cases, it's enough to where a part-time job and your Social Security money will be able to get you through during your golden years. You'll never be able to fully retire, but at least you'll have a little bit coming to you.

Medicare is the program for senior citizens that provides partial health insurance for some things, doesn't cover everything. Most of them have to go buy a supplemental plan, but at least it helps them out to an extent. And Marco Rubio says that, because these Republican tax cuts are going to, you know, add trillions to the deficit, those nasty little Social Security and Medicare payments are going to be drastically reduced, because we've gotta get more money to the rich in the United States.

Marco Rubio wants to send your grandparents, or possibly even yourself, he wants to ship you down the river, because he wants to give more money to his wealthy donors. Grandma and Grandpa, in this instance, are going to be screwed. They're never going to be able to retire. They're going to keep working until the day they die, just because they won't be able to afford health insurance. And they won't be able to retire, because Social Security will be cut down to nothing.

And more importantly, Rubio's absolutely lying. During this Politico interview, Rubio told us that the main drivers of the debt and the deficit are Social Security and Medicare, because the way those programs are structured is just screwing everything up. There are no facts in this country that support Rubio's claim, there. None.

There is nothing wrong with Social Security. There is nothing wrong with Medicare. The only problem with those two programs is that they don't go far enough. Marco Rubio is a liar. Marco Rubio is a human sack of crap. How about that? How about we just stop mincing words? How about we stop being polite? How about we just call these morons what they are, because that's the point that I am at, here.

I am absolutely sick and tired of seeing these disgusting, worthless wastes of oxygen, people like Marco Rubio, going forward, lying to the public, lying with a straight face, lying with impunity, screwing over everyone so that they can give their wealthy donors more money. That is what this is about. That is what Republicans want to do, and that is the only thing they know how to do.

So Grandma, Grandpa, Mom, Dad, brothers and sisters, you're gonna get screwed under the Republican rule that currently takes hold in Washington, D.C. But the wealthy elite, if you're already a millionaire, already a billionaire and have nothing to worry about, they want to actually just hand you more cash each year, because they're hopeful some of that cash is going to find its way back into their campaigns. These people are absolutely disgusting.

  1. Do you the republicans gonna get destroyed in the midterms next year after this harrendous tax bill they just passed? I hope so and seeTrump go into a epic meltdown via twitter.

    • Kevin Clements I think the midterms will be a turning point, maybe not because of the tax scam, but from all the crap that’s happened in the past year. I’m in S. Fl, and we have a big Haitian population, many of whom I work with, or am acquainted with through family or friends. The people I know have been talking a lot about how the GOP will probably let the hardship program that helped resettle many after the disasters in Haiti, lapse, which will lead to deportations and ICE thugs targeting more people. Those who have established legal status aren’t likely to forget the Rethuglicans’ actions during the midterms. Plus, the Puerto Rican community knows these GOP bastards have been more than happy to let P.R. suffer, exploit the tragedy on the island and blame the victims of a terrible disaster. I know for sure none of my family members would vote for a Republican(not that we did before all this) after seeing their sickening behavior towards Puerto Ricans. There’s been a lot of info being shared about coming election dates, when and where newly resettled P.R citizens can register to vote. This is anecdotal, yes, but the callous disregard conservatives have shown for minorities, for the marginalized and the needy is not going unnoticed and I sincerely hope that other states are feeling the same fire I’ve seen stirring in my home state and that we can use that energy and outrage productively to turn things around in the midterms. Their open bigotry and constant attempts to sabotage social programs and target communities can be the nail in the GOP coffin, I hope.

  2. Not only that after they get Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security, then they’re going to go after our (Pensions and Unions).
    Thank you America.
Are you tired of winning yet??

  3. On Friday evening I spent time at the Christmas party held by the assisted living center my daughter (cognitive impairment and other special needs) resides at and very fearful what will happen to her and her co-residents when this crap hits the fan.  Her mother and I took early SSD retirement for medical matters ourselves and we too are going to see this very frail support we have disintegrate.  This is the most foul way to exact evil in this country by taking away these benefits.  People are GOING TO DIE and the GOP doesn’t care.  EVIL!  Reprobate minds.  Enjoy Hell.

    • gramps2matt : Sorry of hear of your plight! But americans are never going to learn their lessons about republicans and what they’re about! These people are a corporate capitalist party, and their “inly” interest is corporations! They believe everything is has a price tag and is “for sale”, including grandma! And after the economic crash of 2008, when republicans were in control then as we had home foreclosures, job loses, increased homeless population, Auto industry in a severe slump, loss of retirement benefits, 401K’s, investments, etc., and what did dumb Americans do? They turned right around and voted republicans right back into office to do it all over again! How dumb is that? It’s just like saying, Let’s do it again! And it all started in part due to those tax cuts and wall street! Here we go again! People will never learn their lessons with republikkklans! We deserve what we get! It’s that simple!

  4. Right wing Christians who rob the children and elderly should start calling themselves by their correct title. Hypocrites!

  5. The success of this destructive “tax bill” will be measured by body count. People are going to die. Shouldn’t it be those that are stealing from and killing us?

    • TR Farmer What economy? We the people only export munitions. We Sell War! Trump tried selling armaments during his speeches in the Far East. S Korea, Japan. We gotta sell arms, so we gotta foment wars. Is that in the tax bill? War profiteering companies’ elites will have more money. Does that help “our” economy? Decide for yourself.

  6. I Don’t blame Trump or the horrible congressmen in the house or Senate I blame the supporters that keep voting these big idiots into office hoping they do the right thing which they never do, years after years after years worser and worser and worser is all the 33% of corrupted hearts and #BrainDead Americans still supporting this#BULLSHI get

  7. If the number of volunteer hours correctly credited monetarily was to be added up, which senior citizens contribute, the amount would equal or exceed Donald Trump’s total wealth. This is something people ignore when they say that seniors are a drain on society.

    • Yep. I can remember him saying, “They don’t care about you. They don’t care about you. And now they’re after your Social Security.”

  8. 100% PURE BULLSHIT. These kinds of fake news videos are created to heat up and create division. Trump has promised NOT to touch SS or Medicare and said it again recently.

    • Oh grow up. Not everything that doesn’t fit your worldview is fake news. This is a stupid knee-jerk reaction. If you believe anything Trump says, you lack the ability to think critically or independently. The world is laughing at your country because of Trump and his blind followers. Your healthcare system is a disgrace.

    • Linda Steinberg Linda please do us a favor, social media is for adults, the grown ups are talking, it has no place for fifth grade drop outs like you who live in Mississippi because you were horrified at the thought of teachers were teaching you modern economics, not Liberterian economics of the 18th Century

    • I don’t blindly believe anything he says if it smells rotten. The fact of the matter is that our healthcare system was a mess before Obamacare and Obamacare made it worse, much worse. The world is laughing at the corrupt media. Did you watch the original unedited interview this bullshit is based on? Marco NEVER SAID WHAT THIS VIDEO IS CLAIMING!

      Here’s some facts for you.

Middle-income Americans win the most. People earning between $40,000 and $70,000 would see their tax bills falling by 7.1 percent. People with incomes between $20,000 and $30,000 would see a 10.4 percent decline in their tax bills. Millionaires get just a 5.3 percent cut.
And most middle-income Americans win. Eighty-one percent of taxpayers earning between $50,000 and $75,000 get a tax cut under the Senate bill, according to the JCT. For people earning between $75,000 and $100,000, 84 percent get a tax cut. The same with those earning $100,000 to $200,000. Just 80 percent of those earning a million dollars or more get a tax cut.
A lot of families will owe no taxes at all. Most married couples with children earning less than $60,000 per year will have no income tax liability at all. That’s because under the Senate bill, the child tax credit rises to $2,000 per child. (Note, this is not from JCT but from the MarketWatch tax calculator.)
It’s actually the wealthy that disproportionately pay higher taxes under the bill. Very few people would face a tax increase under the Senate bill, and those people are disproportionately wealthy. According to the JCT, just 10 percent of taxpayers earning between $50,000 and $75,0000 will get a tax increase under the Senate bill, largely from the loss of some deductions. That number is actually probably too high, however, because it was done before Senator Susan Collins of Maine proposed an amendment to preserve the deduction for state and local property taxes up to $10,000. For lower levels of income, the numbers are much smaller. In the $20,000 to $30,000 range, for example, just 5.6 percent will see taxes rise. Around 19.2 percent of millionaires, however, will pay more in taxes because of the loss of deductions.

    • Over the past 3 years, I’ve seen myself shift from supporting Bernie to being a Libertarian. The more knowledge I have, the older I get, the more solid my convictions that limited government is the best way to go.
Here are some facts on the tax reform:

MYTH #1: They’re cutting taxes on millionaires while raising them for the middle class and the poor.
FACT: Middle-income Americans are the biggest winners under the tax bill.

  9. The taxpayers are the Board of Directors in the U.S.A. It’s time to let these corrupt politicos know that we won’t stand for their illegal activities any longer. Let the local and state bloodsuckers know that you are not voting party lines any longer. Going to the hill is not a lifetime job and your license to steal is being revoked. You will have term limits . We hired them and we WILL fire them. Send them a teabag to put them on warning. Teabaggers and take your government back. VOTE-VOTE-VOTE
