TYT Politics Contributor David Sirota ( ) discusses why Sen. John Barrasso's request for a CBO score for Senator Bernie Sanders' Medicare For All bill is not as innocuous as it may seem.

Republicans' Medicare For All Propaganda Is Already Starting
As always excellent reporting from David Sirota! Thank you David, keep it up!
David, you’re exactly what independent media needs. Glad to see you apart of TYT and hope to see your segments more often.
itzKal I echo your statement! This guy is fantastic!
I concur!!!! David, you are an excellent addition to TYT. Thank you for your intelligent, independent reporting.
+Todd Selley Chicks dig it
Surely Sanders will ask the CBO to compare the costs.
Great argument, thank you. I’ll use it when my Republican friends
complain about costs for Medicare for all.
madelon devita don’t forget the argument about leverage and how negotiations work
The Democrats need to send the same letter but ask for comparison
Thank you Dave! Well done. Dave Please send this video to Bernie S. and Elizabeth W. Please.
Republicans on ACA Repeal: “We can’t wait for CBO score before we vote. The CBO is partisan and uses the wrong numbers. Our bill has so many variables that there’s no way they can accurately score it anyway”.
Republicans on Medicare4All: “The very, very reliable and accurate CBO says this will cost a bajillion dollars and Bernie is a communist who wants to eat your children”
brasswirebrush the Cbo did score it? Did you miss the CBO estimate that was plastered all over the media about how 30 million people were going to lose their coverage? That’s probably the only reason it was killed, by the CBO score.
I am not aware of any version of Obamacare repeal that wasn’t scored by the CBO.
they tried to pass it before it could be scored but if failed
Brian Blair are you a troll trying to say your were a Democrat then became a Independent, which i find hard to believe because Independents don’t have that kind of hate at Immigrants, you lost me there ….. SO. I’m guessing your some kind of troll/bot pushing more lies and really don’t want a single payer system …
What would also provide some perspective is to ask ourselves if we want to spend 32 trillion dollars on the a system that supports the few who profit year after year by denying others or if we want to spend 32 trillion on a system that provides for everyone.
Love your reporting it is Always great reporting from you David! #MedicareforAll
So, without Medicare For All, in the current system we will end up spending around 52 Trillion $ in the next 10 years. (3.2 trillion per year with a 5% healthcare inflation compounded).
Look at Barrasso’s donors. All you need to know.
I will not lie.
I think I’m in love with David’s bottom lip.
Wow, a video from Sirota that’s longer than a minute? I like it!
Can we get the CBO to also tell us how many lives it will save compared to the current system?
Clint Holmes single payer in CA extends their lives 3+ years (v US) infant Mort is lower, they have survivability from many cancers we dont- (US is 3% better (which is nothing, but to b fair) in breast & prostate) Canadians also present way less chronic diseases; Diabetes, COPD, (early intervention) And recently, in order to “deal” with their wait times they’ve begun a mass construction of intermediary “Urgent Care” facilities w/ late hours.. (so ERs are clear, prompt & available for bona fide emergencies-) this has worked in cutting AN AVERAGE ER WAIT TO 45 MIN!!! (Living @ the foot of the peace bridge- we have always had =#s of Canadian & US friends. My jealousy over their “default perks of citizenship” has only deepened, the more I learn about CAs system XO)
The US is expected to pay 49 trillion over the next ten years on health care. The current estimate for the senate Medicare for all bill is 32 trillion over the next ten years.
How about the $125 billion waste in the pentagon budget. https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/pentagon-buries-evidence-of-125-billion-in-bureaucratic-waste/2016/12/05/e0668c76-9af6-11e6-a0ed-ab0774c1eaa5_story.html
Or all the money wasted on the f-35 that can’t even work properly.
Two wrongs don’t make a right; a multitude of wrongs make The Right.
A debate on the price of Medicare for All is necessary. But is actually quite easy. You establish a pricing structure for services. That would include basic medical services for all Americans. Prescription Drugs and Dental Care. And you regulate prescription drug costs with drug companies. With a population of 325 million people all in the same group, we could regulate the cost shared among us. It would actually cost nothing to implement if the cost was shared among us all. And the cost to the average American would actually be lower than it is now. And no longer would companies have to subsidize health care. Medicare for All is a win win situation for everyone. Why we still don’t have it is because corrupt politicians on both sides of the fence get bribes from the for profit healthcare system and big pharma. And those who profit from selling healthcare need to be put in prison or executed. I would love to see them hang. These assholes actually profit from other peoples misery. And hanging them from a tree would send a message to that subsection of humanity that it is not OK to profit from sick people.
It’s certain that in this country Republicans and some corporate Democrats want people left in a vacuum and that comparison or context are the last thing they want done. When the elite want to keep control of the masses just stoke their fears. We as progressives need to not just debunk this negative propaganda on Single Premium Healthcare, but remind them that America was built on bravery not cowardice.
