for Medicare Help.
Aetna has announced that in 2017 they will no longer participate in many Obamacare exchanges. This is because being in the Obamacare exchanges has already cost Aetna over $400 million in losses. This has absolutely nothing to do with Medicare, though.
This pulling out of the unprofitable exchanges is actually a good thing for Aetna Medicare Supplement holders. This means the company is focused on remaining profitable, which means they do not have to pass on losses to existing policyholders in the form of higher-than-needed rate increases.
