  1. I have private cover but also have a regular doctor I see who bulk bills me so I pay nothing for the visit. the government will charge you a levy if you don’t have private cover. this to help pay for medicare. but if you are on a low income. you don’t pay the levy. So the trick is to use the public system when you can. but if you need let’s say a new hip or knee you use your private. because the public system will make you wait for a year or two or three.

    • Bulk billing is the best! Though not all doctors do it in Australia but it’s a good system.

  2. Hey Great video love the comparisons keep them up and just wondering if you could do a translation of the currency because I don’t know a lot about your currency so if you could translate it that would be awsom

  3. Interesting topic today. The news over the last month here has been full of discussion about how the American healthcare system compares to other healthcare systems. Since American workers’ healthcare almost always is provided through the employer, oops!, millions Americans just lost their job and their healthcare at a time when they really need it. In hospitals, we find that for-profit hospitals have optimized the doctor-patient ratio and hospital-bed ratios to extract a high level of profit, which leaves us unequipped to deal with difficult times. So once again, our system breaks down under stress and we find that we don’t have such a great system as we were told. We hear in the news about the German Kurzarbeit system… Wow, great idea! Too late for us this time. Point : Germany.

    • I hope your health care system will improve after this crisis. You can even legally live in Germany/Australia/ Switzerland without health insurance. Hope things will turn around for the better in the US soon. Stay safe!

  4. Yeah a lot of western countries push vaccines, flu shots, insurance, pharma drugs, extra procedures on people because they get kickbacks. More drugs they prescribe, shots they give, more money they’ll get.

    • It probably also depends on the system in place. In New Zealand is experienced doctors resistant to prescribe anything at all, favouring the more natural methods.
