My experience was completely different. None of the doctors in my area accepted the Advantage plan and had to use plan doctor. Trying to get tests and appointments with the plan doctor was made difficult by their requirement to call a special number, not the doctor’s, and get permission before any work could be done. I was told I could switch back to Medicare if Advantage didn’t work out, but Medicare made it very difficult and I was without coverage for months before I was reinstated.
Both con side of Advantage plans should be made public so people can make informed decisions about such an important part of their lives.
