Medicare Part D Outreach Clinics Patient Impact

Since 2007, Pacific's Medicare Part D Mobile Outreach Clinics have assisted 7,707 beneficiaries with their Medicare Part D drug plan. Over the past 12 years, 454 doctor of pharmacy (PharmD) students have volunteered more than 18,000 hours at outreach events held in 20 cities across California. Our students have assisted more than 1,800 low-income beneficiaries and helped more than 1,100 individuals in a language other than English.

This year our faculty and students helped play a part in fighting one of the devastating effects of the opioid epidemic – accidental overdose. San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) identified seniors as one of the two high-risk populations for opioid overdose in San Joaquin County. Pacific partnered with the SJCPHS to distribute doses of Naloxone, a medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.
