Amy's daughter died because she couldn't prove that she had health insurance. Our dysfunctional health care system is tearing families apart every day across this country. We need Medicare for All.

  1. America needs this man, in my public speaking class I always try to do Bernie’s speeches and spread Bernie’s message!

    • These things should not happen. But she woman did not need to just wait for her daughter to die. She could have pooled some money and flown to Europe. We would have fixed her up more affordably over here.

    • +CellGames2006 ha ha ha ha! You really believed that bullshit story? Wow! No wonder Europe is falling apart, with people like you inhabiting it.

    • +Bane’s Super Brutal Metal Funtime Show me the last time in 2011 an american has called out those who are less compassionate. I’ll wait.

    • I’m thinking my comment was misconstrued.

I was making fun of the use of “Emo” as an insult because it basically fell out of the vernacular around 2013-ish.

      Is what I’m saying.

    • As a Canadian this story is unimaginable.
Our society focuses on life saving care first, before payment.
Don’t get me wrong the hospitals want their money, they just won’t hold you hostage for that payment if you life is in immediate danger.

    • +Will Pack go ahead and back that with something. Start by explaining how trump getting rid of the individual mandate in Obamacare, thus opening up increased options for consumers and driving down premiums through competition is a bad thing.

  2. My wife’s cousin lost her leg because she did not have health insurance. Our politicians must be held accountable for there greed. This happens all across America, insurance companies, politicians and others profit from actions make them pay with there jobs. The real justice would be to put them in jail.

  3. Idk what else to say but I love Bernie and we need to ensure that everyone has equal healthcare, including the lawmakers.

  4. We need more than Medicare for all, we need socialized healthcare, the Gov need to takeover and nationalize this industry. Physicians need to be forced to takecare of anyone.

    • yeah because the Veteran’s Administration works so well… The VA rates 1/3 of their own hospitals at 2 or less out of 5. And they’ve been working at it for 80 years. Welcome to gov run healthcare.

    • +Steve Frost They have made headway recently but what they ended up doing largely was to send more veterans to private facilities rather then expand VA services. It costs less. I still have to do dental at the VA however and the last time I scheduled a dental cleaning there was an 18 month wait. It isn’t politicians screwing it up, it’s inefficiency. The federal gov should not be in the healthcare business.

    • Gary I can’t speak for the va but Medicare for all would save Americans money over private health insurance and you can keep your doctor/hospital. The only difference is the color of your card and the way you pay for your insurance.

    • +Steve Frost I don’t believe that a guy on youtube is qualified to make those costs statements. I’m not buying the rest of it. I know what gov insurance is like already.

  5. HEALTHCARE IS A HUMAN RIGHT! HEALTHCARE IS A HUMAN RIGHT! HEALTHCARE IS A HUMAN RIGHT! HEALTHCARE IS A HUMAN RIGHT! HEALTHCARE IS A HUMAN RIGHT! HEALTHCARE IS A HUMAN RIGHT! HEALTHCARE IS A HUMAN RIGHT! HEALTHCARE IS A HUMAN RIGHT!

  6. For all the people harping on the fact, Bernie is old. Yes, he’s old with the same OLD ideas for 40 years! I called that CONVICTION! So ask yourself: “what do you believe in”? #MedicareForAll #BernieSanders2020

    • +Gary Well Gary, any old school capitalist, who doesn’t have particular investments in utilities, would like cheaper utilities—because they like saving money on expenditures, keeping that profit for themselves instead of someone else profiting off of them.

Any small business owner, not a capitalist necessarily, but an entrepreneur, would like to be free from having to offer and pay for health insurance for enough employees to grow the business—-and don’t forget how expensive and faulty health insurance is for the small business owner. That same person would benefit from cheaper utilities at work and at home.

We already have a mixed economy. That’s why your kids get a K-12 education and people to supervise them while you are at work, why you can drive on most roadways without paying a toll to use them, and why your home is less likely to burn down because the fire department doesn’t skip houses that didn’t pay their fire insurance anymore.

    • +Gary No, Gary. You don’t know what it is. Look up the term ‘mixed economy’ to help you understand some things about the world you live in.

The strictest definition of socialism is that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

Capitalism is trade and industry being controlled by private owners and/or corporations for profit, rather than regulated by the state.

There are no strictly socialist nor strictly capitalist countries.

    • +Andi Amador So when Bernie says the government should control the means of production, that’s a different kind of socialism?

    • +Gary You people are so predictable. You watched this, uploaded five days ago.

A study showed that people who watch FOX are less informed than if they didn’t watch it.

I look at what they tell you, but I diversify my sources.

They even mention Venezuela instead of Finland, hoping that you don’t look elsewhere for real comparisons. The number of times they mislead you in that segment were too numerous to address here.

In that FOX segment, in the little snippet of Bernie they included, he is talking about utilities.

Some ways to control the means of production would include a range of things like steering away from coal powered electricity generation to wind for instance—or solar in areas where they work really well–to government ran utilities with employees and providing electricity to people at cost—from regulation to publicly run to the people owning their own solar panels, selling excess at a great rate to the localized grids.

Things people really need are good candidates for the social interventions that every developed country that has capitalism does to varying degrees for it’s citizens. There is no country that is purely capitalist.

  7. My vote is with Bernie Sanders, MSNBC and CNN try too convince me to vote for Cory or Harris because they are black and so am I. I am not falling for it, Bernie2020!

  8. Please remember, when talking with people…
    Debate, not hate.
Together, we can make sure stories like this NEVER happen again.
    Rest in Peace baby girl.

  9. It is always heartbreaking to hear Amy’s story, I supported her for congress and was sad she came up short. Thank you for being a powerful voice for Medicare for All and having to share your painful story. #MedicareForAll #Bernie2020
