What Are Medicare’s Four Parts?

Understanding the four different parts of Medicare can make choosing the right Medicare coverage easier. SilverScript® Insurance Company wants to help you choose the right plan.

The four different Medicare parts include Parts A, B, C and D.
Medicare Part A is hospital insurance, and covers many inpatient costs.
Medicare Part B is medical coverage, which covers many outpatient and preventive services.
Medicare Part C, also known as Medicare Advantage, is offered by private companies and is required to cover, at minimum, the same services as Parts A and B.
Medicare Part D is prescription drug coverage, and can be offered as stand-alone coverage or can be combined with a Medicare Advantage Plan.

This video provides more information on some of the services each of the four parts of Medicare may cover.
