By the point they expire, Republicans will cut government spending so the cuts don’t increase the debt. Then it’s pretty much impossible for anyone to raise taxes. So basically they rushed to cut taxes.
Cutting Medicare and Medicaid wouldn’t completely get rid of them and they gave us tax cuts so we can spend our money on healthcare. That’s basically the most basic thing about the right on this issue, they believe that people are better at spending their money than the government.

What pisses me off , Social Security has never contributed to the national debt , congress has used Social Security funds as their “piggy bank” to resolve spending issues over the years , leaving “I.O.U’s” in their wake . If congress was to put back the money they’ve borrowed from Social Security Trust Funds , the program would be solvent . President Johnson gave us Medicare supported by congress back during his administration and myself and everyone else who uses Medicare , still has to pay into it , and what Medicare dosen’t pay for , the remainder comes out of our pockets again ! Paul Ryan and the rest of the GOP establishment would love nothing better than to take away all that there is to give to their rich friends and corporations for their tax scam that they’ve passed . The problem is , they’ll have a huge fight with American seniors and myself . I’ve called & wrote my elected officials , they know where I stand …..
Perhaps we learned we shouldn’t trust the federal government with our money? Furthermore, this shows us we shouldn’t trust them to take even more of it for additional programs. Havent met a person yet who favors it who has experienced the VA.

Well, who didn’t know this would happen. Yes, many of my generation I’m ashamed to say supported Dump. IDK WTF happened to their ideals & morals most of us had in the 60s & 70s when we fought for civil rights, women’s rights & to get America out of Vietnam. AARP who backed Dump in the election is now having 2nd thoughts on the matter with Medicare & SS poised to be gutted. Dumb fucks….they helped to put us into the position we are in now. Just remember….not all seniors voted for Dump. There are many of educated & intelligent seniors who could see Dump & the ratpubliklans for what they are & didn’t vote for them.
