Medicare For… Get About It | Episode 179 (February 8, 2019)

The current crop of 2020 Democratic Party presidential contenders—for the most part—all seem to support Bernie Sanders’ Medicare for All proposal, but whenever they’re pushed on specific details, they’re inadvertently revealing that they’re not actually serious about it. Sherrod Brown flat out just doesn’t support it, Elizabeth Warren—like Kamala Harris—suddenly supports “many paths” to Medicare for All, Cory Booker won’t get rid of the filibuster in order to fight for it, and Howard Schultz… well, he’s Howard Schultz. We’ll talk about why Bernie Sanders is the only 2020 candidate that’s serious about getting Medicare for All. Additionally, we’ll talk about the net neutrality legal battle, Michael Moore’s take on 2020, Trump’s endorsement of religion in schools, and more!

  1. Asks those politicians to live off a minimum hourly rate for their state, then have to come up with thousands of dollars per year in insurance fees, after living expenses come out. Then see if they like it when thier hospitals ,refuse care.Or those insurance companies do for the slightest loophole. The present standard is unsustainable, for a healthy economy, you need healthy, available and educated too, workers. Because higher education too is unaffordable for most.

    • Insurances are the biggest scam going. They require you to buy insurance if you want a storage locker. If you get broken into, you have to go through the police in order to be able to file a claim. The insurance industry has rigged the system so that the police are the downfield blockers for their profit gouging. We REALLY need to regulate all insurances otherwise it’s money for nothing and they screwed for free.

  2. Why does the thumbnail have those wishy-washy’s in it… and someone who supports Medicare for all…. only not running? As opposed to the person (Tulsi) who does support Medicare for all, and is actually running?

  3. While I generally support Medicare for All (I’ve lived in the UK under their NHS, so I know it works), I’m concerned about the possibility of it eliminating coverage for transgender people to transition, and, of course, also about the possibility of it completely eliminating abortion coverage due to the Hyde Amendment, as the Democrats attempt to achieve compromise with the Republicans in order to get it passed.

  4. Mike you could be a great deal of help. If you would talk about mmt . AOC understands mmt. It would help if you would talk about it Mike. Thanks

  5. When Tommy Douglas first introduced healthcare in Saskatchewan ,Canada. Doctors went on strike, the media condemned his efforts . It was not an easy struggle but today Canada has universal healthcare.

    • +WitherSkellie okay if they are woman go have would you have a baby by one or Mary one ? You talk the talk but you know I’m saying what u really feel deep down ur gender is determined by cells not how you feel. It’s written into every cell biologically not psychologically. You said u got science to back up what you say but there is thousands of years of human knowledge evolution and science that says otherwise. This ppl have a mental disorder that we agree on but hormones and genitalia dismemberment and or modification is not the answer especially with children adults can do whatever but kids shouldn’t be able to do the above-mentioned. Now with adults my issue is that as a straight male I want a straight female who was born that way not decided to be that way. I want a woman who is biologically equipped with female sexual organs and there is not a straight male who doesn’t want the same thing so you tell me why it’s okay for a male to impersonate a woman trick a straight male it to bring with him and waste potentially years of his life wondering why he can’t have kids and then at the end his partner says I’m a man …… What you have here is the beginning of a murder suicide wave that will probably cause the entire LGBTQ community to go back into the closet but I’m a bigot so what do I know right I don’t got nothing against the LGBT community but I will not call you by ur pro noun ur name is good enough you will always be referred to as ur biological gender and no I don’t like transgenders who trick straight men really I don’t like any transgenders I really just wish it could go back to LGB and leave the T on the side of the road

    • Greg Freeman Greg Freeman Greg Freeman first of all the trap meme is heavily flawed. Most transgender women or even transgender men tell their partner before it gets serious. Second you do not speak for all men. It’s people like you that make it hard for trans people to not feel comfortable revealing that, for fear of their partner being toxicly masculine. As for the science that proves it, trans women have a more feminine brain, with more white matter then grey. There is no mental disorder involved. You are treating them no different then how people used to treat gays, and that is sad.

    • Greg Freeman I do believe what I’m saying cause I am a trans woman. You getting teased and then getting a hug is nothing. This is the toxic masculinity I was talking about. I have been the happiest I’ve been since I came out. Oh and don’t worry, I’m a lesbian so I wouldn’t even want to “trick” you. How can you not see how intolerant you are being. No facts or evidence, only anecdotes and feelings. Smh

    • She is not a true progressive and never has been! Vote for yourself, vote for Bernie sanders!

Then again I’ve never fully liked her! I prefer sanders and miss Cortez.

  6. I usually do whatever research I can about the candidates before casting my vote. Bernie Sanders is one of the most honorable politicians to have sprung from the sewers of DC. I trust if elected President, he will do HIS VERY BEST in fighting for our interests. Warren, I don’t really trust her. She’s a distant second to Bernie for me. Please announce your candidacy Bernie!

  7. The best part of the video clip of AOC showing how easy it is to become a corrupted politician is the anti-AOC trolls using that very same clip as proof of her trying to verify how she can become a corrupt official right out in the open.

  8. Here is my checklist for who to vote for.
    1. They do not support war,
2 they do not support Israel,
3 and they believe in Medicare for all.
I will not support anyone who doesn’t tic off all three of those items.

  9. The fake journalist from Bloomberg that was questioning Liz Warren was out right lying when he frames the question as abolishing health insurance companies. They would still be able to sell supplement plans to cover the other 20% of costs medicare does not cover, and other forms of insurance. If I was asked that question I would have called him out from the question alone!

  10. A class that focuses on theism? Sure but only if you include all of the rest and only show what is demonstrable within each.

i.e. what they belive, rituals, how that relates to their cultures and societies; but absolutely under no circumstances assert that any claims of any of the religions are true. Proselytization at school really grinds my gears and I would not have my tax dollars fund it.

  11. I do not agree with shoring up the ACA, which was never an affordable path to healthcare. There is only ONE path to affordable healthcare for all, which is Bernie’s M4A bill.
