Here’s Why Dems Deny You Medicare For All

  1. Some things just shouldn’t have a profit motive attached to them. Health care, prisons, water systems, and fucking running for office!

    • Jimmi Jones yes long hard road, its propaganda that ppl have been brainwashed into thinking its socialism, ppls liberty would be taken away. The military is socialist, that argument is alwsys thrown out when healthcare is the topic. Rich ppl dont pay there fair share, in Massachusetts theres a flat tax wtf is that, bullshit.

    • I don’t even live in the US. I live in Germany, more specifically just outside Berlin and see this failed healthcare on a daily basis. People from Norway coming here because they aren’t able to get the care they need and spend cash to get it here. Keep thinking “Single Payer” is the way I would much rather be bankrupt then dead.

    • KsEF5 maybe you should look at the numbers and they’ll give you an indication which system is better. I believe healthcare is a right, not a privilege.

    • KsEF5 germany has a non profit insurance company that provides healthcare, am i correct. Not a for profit insurance based healthcare system, is this correct, so everyone can get coverage, not leaving 30 million germans uninsured, is this correct.

  2. Democrats are the new republicans while the current republicans are all just crazy tea partyers. There is no people’s party… yet!

    • Republicans are the Libertarian party, the koch brothers are Libertarian party supporters. The 1980 campaign was the beginnings of their propaganda machine, david was the vice presidential candidate for the Libertarian party. Now they just dump money to whoever helps them change everything to the way they want it, slowly implementing the extreme party platform that no one in their right mind would vote for outright. They’re currently backing a democrat that helped them deregulate the banking industry, her name is heidi heitkamp.

The Libertarian party has very little to do with being libertarian and a lot to do with being extreme right wing dumbasses, they’re actually moderate on libertarian/authoritarian scale because they only seek liberty for the wealth and property owners: the producer, which means they also aren’t really capitalists.

    • Yet I giggle everytime when I see or hear someone call them all left winged libtards. The Pelosi’s and Schumer’s are as much as republican as Reagan was 30 years ago. Almost no democrat fights for the common person anymore. They say they do, but no one bothers to check on their record when it comes time to vote. The Oligarchy takeover is complete, Democracy died in the corporate boardrooms.

  3. Being critical of Democrats only helps Trump. We shouldn’t question the Party’s strategy, they know what’s best. I for one will be silent and not rock the boat.
I really love how super delegates vote for us, democracy isn’t free! If Nancy Pelosi says we can’t have universal healthcare, we gotta get over it and stop bugging them about it.

  4. Health insurance is a protection racket. Insurance companies function just like organized crime syndicates. Centrist corporate Democrats are in bed with them the same as the Republicans are. The healthcare mafia.

    • “As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a corporate sell out politician. To me, being a corporate shill was better than being President of the United States. Even before I first wandered into a politician’s office for an unpaid internship, I knew I wanted to be a part of them. It was there that I knew that I belonged. To me, it meant being somebody in a neighborhood that was full of nobodies. They weren’t like anybody else. I mean, they did whatever they wanted. They killed people by denying them healthcare and nobody ever arrested them. In the summer when they played cards all night, nobody ever called the cops.”
      -Badfellas

    • #DemExit: Consider joining the (Progressives’) Green Party to help defeat the corrupt (Center-Right/ Liberal) Democratic Party!

    • Sorry but I disagree. I say everyone in the country should vote INDEPENDENT. Vote for the best person for the job, regardless of party. problem is we need more independent candidates. Like Bernie.

  5. Insurers are villains, but they’ve got nothing on Nancy Pelosi.

And Stef, just wanted you to know … you have the absolute cutest smile ever. 😉

  6. It is time for socialism in America…… Time for pitchforks in the street to put down the Oligarchy and the common man rules our country!

  7. Obama is so courageous. So courageous. He totally deserves that courageous award like he deserved the Nobel Peace Prize.

Not only didn’t Sanders introduce a Medicare for All bill in 2009, but in 2017 he delayed introducing it so that it didn’t go head-to-head against ACHA. Why? Perhaps he didn’t want to embarrass his Democratic cronies by making them either support it or be seen as hypocrites?

Sorry but in my book any politician who turns a blind eye to election fraud is not worth supporting.

And what excuse do you have for his peddling the Russiagate red herring?

Maybe Sanders knows something we don’t, and maybe he’s just being a good sheepdog for the Democrats.

“The best way to control the opposition is to lead it ourselves.” — Vladimir Lenin

    • +John Kesich – Sanders did NOT SPARE the Dems the discussion. And it does not REALLY matter when his Medicare Bill was ready, it was quite obvious that it would not pass THEN. – He definitely SPOKE about it in terms of Medicare for All long before it was presented (changing the wording from healthcare for everyone or single payer that he had used in 2016).
The bill is symbolic at the moment. It did not matter if he had come out in Jan. 2017 or a few months later.

And he has been promoting better healthcare – now Medicare for ALL every time he gets a chance. Townhalls, TV interviews (does not matter what is the reason for the interview – he always ! mentions healthcare, too).

Even when he supported the resistance to not have ACA abolished in spring 2017 – it is very clear to everyone who LISTENED to him that he views it as not sufficient. Still better than having NO provision and until something better is ready to pass ACA should stay.
He also said end of 2016, beginning 2017 that he would support Pres. Trump and Congress if they had the intention to pass something better than ACA.

I assume they had to sort out some details. The bill was meant to force some Dems to take a stand, to raise public awareness.
Usually the Corporate Dems could make empty promises, just co-sponsor it for show- and do a 180 should they ever have the necessary majorty.

But they KNOW NOW that the voters are watching them AND Sanders would call them out. That is why they shy away even NOW to take a stand – they could have played that game in earlier times, but not anymore.

The support might of course be shaky – then it is a case of “give them enough rope to hang themselves”.

Over the months Sanders dragged a few over to co-sign.
(Which might explain the waiting, when it was officially presented, he wanted to have more co-sponsors).

He introduced the Bill regarding drug imports from Canada (well looking into the possibility) in January 2017, and it would have passed had it not been for Democratic defectors (even some “free market” Republicans like Ted Cruz supported it, so if ALL the Dems had been on board).

He called the Dems out mildly – but the Dems that want to run in 2020 got the memo nontheless (and were trashed anyway on Social media by progressive who do not have the “diplomatic” concessions to make that Sanders obviously thinks necessary.

Of course that awareness and the opportunity for Dems to show how they are sell-outs again has to do with the fact that he proposed the bill and spoke about it after the rejection.

      Steady does the trick.

    • +John Kesich – In case you have not noticed: Sanders pays some lip service to the Russia story (they would eat him alive if he contradicted it – and it is the task of the FBI anyway). He calls for the need to investigate ….and then he JUMPS BACK to the ISSUES: healthcare for all, free college, maternity leave, infrastructure plan, ….

I saw him do that when he was invitied to comment on Russian collusion. – I do not know if the really believes it, if he knows thing we do not know – in any case he does not waste much time with “Russia, Russia”

The TV networks invite him for it, so he gives them some soundbites…. and then he voices HIS MESSAGE.

  8. President Obama’s 2nd year of his 1st term had a filibuster-proof Senate. They could have addressed black mass incarceration, passed Medicare-for-All, immigration, a jobs bill/infrastructure and Social Security and Medicare.

    • Jay Harris How’s he gonna do all that and be bought off at the same time? Oh, silly me, HE CAN’T do the right thing and be bought and paid for. I musta fell and hit my head. LOL!!

    • George Carter

Jay is correct. Nothing LOL about “the myth of the democratic supermajority”. Remember the defections after Obama got elected or congresspeople getting shot and other things?

    • But they didn’t because the Democrats are also bought and paid for. At least the Republicans are honest about wanting to screw you.

    • Mal c.H You and your viewers are finally waking up young man to the game of the team that screams the loudest in public but bs and screws you privately the ever loving damnocrap party but republicans play a part too they just don’t scream as loud in public as that other party that claim they care so much about you the downtrodden and blue collar workers you know , the main street ones . ha ! ha ! ha !

    • Mal c.H Goddamnit Dahmer and Bundy were amateurs compared to,these fucking psychopaths in power. What a downfall what a disappointment I couldn’t imagine 30 years ago this would be how things are.

    • “hey guys, we’re talking about talking about affordable healthcare. did you see what i did there?” nancy pelosi

  9. It was the fight of their life, the democrats say, while people are literally dying from an intentionally broken healthcare system.

    • +Moh Moony

what a bunch of horseshit she’s the minority leader. she just met with blue shield yesterday. she can snap her fingers and force the entire caucus to sign on to the M4A. bill, but she doesn’t. because she’s a con artists

    • George Carlin was right. You have no choice, you have owners and they own everything. You have the illusion of freedom. The politicians don’t own the country the billionaires do and they have long since bought and paid for the Executive, Legislative and Judicial system………………………when you are born in this world, you are born into a freak show and when you are born in a certain country, you are given a front row seat. And NOW we are all audiences to the Democratic and Republican freak show. Things won’t get better, just be happy with what you got. Yea, Bernie ain’t as honest as he seems because if he was truly honest and sincere for change and improvement then he would just form another party. Bernie is just the Democratic party’s crowd pleaser. The fact that we have such horrible politicians is proof that this is the Best we got………….garbage in, garbage out.

    • @Alma OG As I believe I said to you in another post – if you believe that the majority of voting citizens are for universal health care there are plenty of states that allow citizens to bypass party and get the issue before the public for a popular vote. Either you have the numbers or you know you don’t and simply feel that it’s the right thing to do. Either way, the citizens collectively get to determine what is best for them. Authoritarian rule isn’t a good precedent regardless of how benevolent the issue at hand seems to be.

  10. Even boogeyman countries like North Korea, Russia, China, and Iran don’t subject their citizens to for-profit healthcare. Americans are some of the only people in the world who are vulnerable to their families lives being destroyed by medical debt and both parties perpetuate this obscene system.
