2017 Changes Are:

Part B cost is $134 per Month in 2017 vs 121.80 in 2016.
Part B Deductible is $183 in 2017 vs $166 in 2016.

Part A out of Pocket in 2017 is:

First 60 days All but $1,316

61st through 90th day All but $339 a day

91st day and after:
• While using 60 lifetime reserve days:
$658 a day

• Once lifetime reserve days are used:
– 365 additional days:
$0 Per Day
– Beyond the additional 365 days
$0 Per Day

Here is what they were in 2016:

First 60 days All but $1,288

61st through 90th day All but $322 a day

91st day and after:
• While using 60 lifetime reserve days:
$644 a day
• Once lifetime reserve days are used:
– 365 additional days:
$0 Per Day
– Beyond the additional 365 days
$0 Per Day

What that means is that if you do not have a Medicare Supplement you are out of pocket a fortune!!

Here is Part B at a glance and what it covers:

Medical expenses —
In or out of the hospital and
Outpatient hospital treatment
Such as physician’s services, inpatient and outpatient
medical and surgical services and supplies, physical
and speech therapy, diagnostic tests, durable medical
equipment
First $183 of Medicare-Approved Amounts

Here are the different parts to Medicare and what they cover:

Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) helps cover:
■ Inpatient care in hospitals
■ Skilled nursing facility care
■ Hospice care
■ Home health care

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) helps cover:
■ Services from doctors and other health care providers
■ Outpatient care
■ Home health care
■ Durable medical equipment
■ Some preventive services

Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage):
■ Includes all benefits and services covered under Part A and Part B
■ Usually includes Medicare prescription drug coverage (Part D) as
part of the plan
■ Run by Medicare-approved private insurance companies
■ May include extra benefits and services for an extra cost

Medicare Part D (Medicare prescription drug
coverage):
■ Helps cover the cost of prescription drugs
■ Run by Medicare-approved private insurance companies
■ May help lower your prescription drug costs and help protect
against higher costs in the future
