I spend approx $19K per month on med supp leads for my agency. The challege is the 1% to 2% return. The key is call the non responders and doing a real good jo on cross selling. 35% of our business is the annuity product line. 100% of that is from Med supp leads."

  1. former bankers life agent now working for a more reputable company. I was there until 12/15. not much as changed. same tactics.

  2. Its not a good outfit, but the incident with the camera crew confronting that agent for driving the lady to the bank so she could get a check for the exact product she wanted in the first place was uncalled for. He is a salesman, she told him in plain english she wanted that medicare advantage plan, and he assisted her to buy it so they can both move on in life. The interviewer who called him slimey outside the bank is lucky he didn’t get punched in the mouth.

  3. I worked there for over 6 months and this report is 100% accurate, but only shows a very little of what is so unethical and awful about this company. They are all about the bait and switch, not only with senior citizens, but with the people they bring in as agents. They promise you that with enough hard work, you can earn a 6 figure income in no time. Lies. They promise you no cold calling. Lies. They promise you it’s not a sales job. Lies.

I was 100% dedicated to this opportunity. I worked 80+ hours a week. I made hundreds and hundreds of cold calls per day. I drove all over Los Angeles to meet with clients. There was literally not one of my peers who worked harder at this than I did. I finally walked away after 6 months, when I realized this place was a scam, had the worst reputation in the insurance industry, and I was thousands of dollars POORER than when I started.

They train you to imply that you are associated with their Medicare and that you want to meet with them to explain the changes to Medicare benefits. If that actually works, which is not very often, they train you to switch the appointment over to an insurance sales meeting, using every manipulative tactic in the book to hard sell them on a policy.

Because these people weren’t looking for life insurance, it’s extremely possible that they will sign up for one because it sounds good at the time, or they just want to get you out of their house. Then they will turn around and cancel, causing a commission chargeback to your bank account without notice, which often puts your account into the negative, costing you bank fees.

You also pay so many fees for nonsense that comes out of your commissions, that you actually make very little of the money you DO get to keep.

By the time you figure out this is a system that is set up to make people above you rich, not you, and you leave, they have already hired dozens of new people to take your place. They are all about volume. It’s a terrible system with a small success percentage, but it costs them very little to operate, so they just keep recruiting people en masse and don’t worry about how many people’s lives they are ruining.

I took my licence and learned how to be an ethical life insurance and Medicare supplement agent, with people who actually care about helping their clients and nurturing the careers of people just starting out.

Bankers life is a depressing pit of hell that makes money off chewing people up and spitting them out. Run far, far away from them.

    • Autumn Rain Glading this is 100% accurate. I worked there for about a month and let me tell you, its all false promises. They told me no cold calls and what did i do all day, cold calls. Their lead system is broken because the info on there is wrong and most of the “leads” never even heard of bankers or requested information from them regarding insurance. I went to a certain branch for the interview and told me that training was going to be at that branch but no, i had to drive 40 miles to a different branch and 40 miles back. Worst part is that they never mentioned it but i went along with it and accepted because ihad already had passed my exams and courses. And to make things even worse, they told me i was going to get reimbursed for the gas money. 4 weeks later and nothing, no gas card or no reimbursement of any kind. When i asked the manager about it , he said that they dont do gas cards anymore, wow. Just avoid this job like the plague and run.

  4. They called me today for an interview. I agreed but did my research. I emailed them to cancel the interview. Nope

  5. Poor ethics practices are NOT welcome anywhere, thank you Inside Edition for this report, very helpful and informative. The Panorama City Chamber of Commerce takes very serious unethical behavior and is not accepted or welcome in our institution.
